An Innotech pet containment system
is an affordable alternative to traditional wooden and chain link fences. The systems do not require the expensive upkeep that traditional fences do. Unlike traditional fences, a pet fence is completely hidden.
An containment system can be set up in any configuration. You can use an it to keep your dog out of the flowers or away from the pool. Of course, an an underground containment device is a great way to keep your dog away from the road. Neighbors can create a large area for several dogs to explore. Multiple dogs can use one electronic pet fence; dogs using one fence must wear corresponding collars, which are sold separately.
There are several outdoor fence systems, but they all work basically the same way. Buried wires create a magnetic field that the special radio collar responds to. When the dog moves too close to the boundary of the fence, a tone will sound. If the dog continues towards the system boundary, it will receive a mild electronic correction.
Training your dog to use the unit should take about two to four weeks. Systems come with instructions. Some systems have DVDs.
Many containment systems come with rechargeable, water-proof collars. Most systems have run-through protection to keep your dog safe in the contained area. All of the systems come with a wall transmitter that should be placed in the garage or some other dry place.
The IUC-4200 UltraSmart Express Fencing system is one of the easiest units to install. This pet fence has nine levels of correction and a tone-only feature. The collar, which runs on Lithium Ion batteries, runs its own diagnostics check after every each recharge. And ReadyTest ensures that the collar properly fits your dog. The battery indicator lets you know when it is time to recharge the collar. Lightening protection is an additional safety feature on this particular containment fence.
The IUC-5100 Contain and Train In-Ground has all the great features of other systems, and the collar doubles as a training collar.
The systems are also made for the indoors. The ZND-1200 Zones Indoor Containment System doesn't require any training. Setting up the system is easy. Put the cordless Zone disc near the garbage can or wherever you don't want the pet to have access to, set the range from 2 feet to 12 feet, and put the electronic collar on your pet.
When your pet gets near the protected zone of the system, the collar will emit a warning tone. If the pet keeps going, it will receive a mild electronic correction. The correction from the containment system will continue to increase if the dog keeps going and will stop when the dog goes back into the safety zone. Additional Zones can be purchased and placed anywhere in the house.
